Crohn’s Disease

If you have or know someone who suffers from Crohn’s disease, you are well aware of the various issues they face from day to day

In this article, we’ll talk about one of them, which is the blockage of the intestine. This occurs when the disease thickens your bowel wall with swelling and scar tissue. Food, liquids and stool have less and less room to move. The intestinal passage becomes smaller, until it closes completely and it becomes blocked.

Symptoms such as nausea, bloating, cramps, and abdominal pain are the most common signs, if you are suffering from a blockage.  Other symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea and constipation can also occur.

You’ll start to feel these symptoms shortly after having your meal. Now, you can determine where it is blocked based on how long you start to feel symptoms after a meal. For instance, if it occurs less than 1 hour after eating, your small intestine would most likely be blocked. But if it occurs longer than 1 hour after eating, it’s most likely that the colon is blocked. On a side note, if your symptoms happen all or most of the times after eating, it is possible you might have strictures and/or swelling.

There are two types of blockages that you may have: Strictures and Adhesions.

•Strictures – When your intestinal track becomes smaller. This narrow area is called a stricture.

When it becomes too narrow, it can definitely block your intestine. Food’s that are hard to digest such as popcorn, raw vegetables or nuts can also cause a bowel obstruction. It is also possible that the stricture becomes inflamed and causes a blockage on its own. Keep in mind, bowel strictures can be both temporary and (in more severe cases) permanent.

•Adhesions – By nature, most people’s internal organs have slippery surfaces that don’t allow them to stick together as your body moves. But adhesions are bands of tissue that actually make your organs stick together. Usually, adhesions are painless and don’t cause problems. But for some others, the adhesion can make your intestine get stuck on another organ, which can cause it to twist. The problem is when an intestine becomes twisted, it leads to an obstruction. Surgery will be recommended and usually, the adhesion will get better.

Now as far as treatment goes……….There are different options available.

•Nasogastric (NG) tube – Your doctor may suggest a temporary placement of a Nasogastric (NG) tube to alleviate symptoms caused by such an obstruction. This tube will help you remove excess fluids or gas in your stomach which are caused by an obstruction. Generally, patients suffering from an intestinal blockage will feel better within 48 hours of an NG tube placement.

A clear fluid diet and anti-inflammatory medications will be suggested by your doctor to help you best. Only patients who are suffering from a severe case will be suggested a high dose of steroids to help relieve their swelling.

•Endoscopy – Drugs are not as effective if your blockage is mainly produced by strictures. In this case, your doctor will suggest an endoscopy to check out your strictures and to treat a possible blockage.

This treatment can relieve symptoms for months, even years for some people.

•Surgery – If the area is not accessible through an endoscope, your doctor will suggest surgery.  If you are not responding well to traditional methods like Endoscopy or NG, and you are still having bowel obstruction, surgery is strongly suggested.

In worst cases, when you have a bowel necrosis or perforation in your intestine caused by severe obstruction, an emergency surgery will be performed.

There are two types of surgeries for patients affected by Crohn’s disease:

•Resection: This removes the scarred area of the small intestine.

•Strictureplasty: This restructures the area on the stricture, making the opening of your intestine big again so that stool and intestinal contents can move properly. After having this surgery, many patients were able to stop taking medication and stay in remission from Crohn’s disease. Also, most patients will gain weight and eat normal again, enjoying a better life.

As a positive ending note, intestinal blockage is very treatable but if you don’t see a doctor and obtain proper treatment quickly, it can be very dangerous. The blocked parts of your intestine can start to die. This can lead to serious problems, including Sepsis, which is a life -threatening infection.

How can Digestinol help?

Digestinol is an all-natural supplement that helps support and promote digestive health as well as support your immune system.  Its biggest benefit is the ability to target and reduce inflammation within your digestive system.  Inflammation along your digestive system is one of the main reasons for pain/discomfort associated with digestive disorders.  It can help with both constipation as well as diarrhea, because it gets your body back to normal so the amount of fluid in your colon is regulated the way it should be.

What is Digestinol?

Our product contains AMP (Aloe Mucilaginous Polysaccharides) which is an all-natural molecule found in the aloe vera plant. It is known to enhance the body’s immune system due to its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties. We have a 97-98% success rate reported from people who take Digestinol as directed for 90 days or longer.

If you are not interested in prescription medications to treat your condition and prefer a more natural approach, Digestinol makes all-natural capsules that contain a very specific form of Aloe Polysaccharides to target the inflammation along your digestive tract.

These capsules also provide your body with the nutrients that it is lacking in order to take back control of itself. Digestinol isn’t just Aloe Vera powder, Aloe Vera (contains Aloin) which irritates your digestive system and can cause diarrhea. Digestinol undertakes very specific additional steps in order to remove the Aloin during their extraction process to focus on only the beneficial portions of the Aloe Leaf, the long chain Aloe Mucilaginous Polysaccharide molecules.

Since Digestinol is 100% all-natural it doesn’t bring along the side effects that other chemically based prescription medications have. We tell our customers to think of Digestinol as an all-natural digestive system specific vitamin that reduces inflammation and provides your body with specific nutrients that allow it to take back control of itself.

Our Digestinol capsules will also help to balance the good and bad bacteria levels in your body allowing it to regain control of its normal operations.
