What is a Colonoscopy?

Today we are going to chat about a Colonoscopy.

Most of you have probably heard of it or know someone close that has gone through this procedure, as it’s very common.

This article will describe in simple words what a colonoscopy is and when it’s important to have this procedure done.

A Colonoscopy is an exam that shows how your colon is doing. The doctor who performs this procedure is called a colonoscopist. This exam is performed in your colon and it consists of a long, flexible tube called colonoscope, that measures about 4-6 feet long. This tube enters through your rectum, then slowly goes into your colon (large intestine) and has a camera with a light on the tip, which helps your doctor see a clear image inside your colon.

The duration of this procedure is about 30 minutes, but it can take longer if polyps are found and they need to be removed.

If you are 50 or older, man or women, it’s a good idea to have a colonoscopy exam, even if you enjoy a very healthy life-style, some of the reasons why your doctor may order this test may include:

  1. When you are having intestinal issues, such as rectal bleeding, abdominal pain, chronic diarrhea or chronic constipation.
  2. To make sure you don’t have IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease)
  3. To make sure there’s no cancer in your colon, which is one of the most common types of cancer, by the way.
  4. If you’ve had polyps before, you doctor may suggest a follow up colonoscopy exam just to make sure there are no more polyps and/or remove any new ones. This helps reduce the risk of colon cancer, as polyps are the ones responsible for starting the colon cancer.
  5. Abnormalities found on a colon x-ray
  6. If you smoke, you have unfortunately a better chance to have polyps and colon cancer, than someone who doesn’t smoke.

It may not sound like a pleasant test, but it’s the best way to accurately make a diagnosis without having to have a serious operation. Besides, with full sedation, you will not remember a thing! Once you complete your test, and assuming all looks good, your doctor will recommend a new test every 10 yrs.  That’s not too bad in order to keep a healthy life-style, is it?

So how painful or uncomfortable is a colonoscopy?

Well, it depends on you and your doctor. Many doctors have their own way to perform this exam. Most use a small sedation, others prefer for you to be awake during the whole process and other doctors will just put you under anesthesia/full sedation and make you go to sleep. Some patients may prefer not to take any sedation at all and some do not experience any pain or discomfort while the exam is being done. Keep in mind that normally the lighter the sedation, the better skills your doctor has. Note, that there might be some cramping while your exam is being performed.

The recovery process is quiet simple is most cases. If you choose to be somewhat or fully sedated, you will wake up slowly, calm and comfortable between 5 – 20 minutes after the procedure is done. Then you’ll be resting in your room, supervised by a nurse and in an about an hour or less, you’ll be able to leave the facility.

Most people, once the sedation has cleared, feel just fine and awake.

Don’t forget to take the day off from work and if possible, bring along someone to drive you, that way, you can sit back and relax, or just lay down in the backseat.

How can Digestinol help?

Digestinol is an all natural supplement that helps support and promote digestive health as well as support your immune system.  It’s beiggest benefit is the ability to target and reduce inflammation within your digestive system.  Inflammation along your digestive system is one of the main reasons for pain/discomfort associated with digestive disorders.

What is Digestinol?

Our product contains AMP (Aloe Mucilaginous Polysaccharides) which is an all-natural molecule found in the aloe vera plant. It is known to enhance the body’s immune system due to its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties. We have a 97-98% success rate reported from people who take Digestinol as directed for 90 days or longer.

If you are not interested in prescription medications to treat your condition and prefer a more natural approach, Digestinol makes all-natural capsules that contain a very specific form of Aloe Polysaccharides to target the inflammation along your digestive tract.

These capsules also provide your body with the nutrients that it is lacking in order to take back control of itself. Digestinol isn’t just Aloe Vera powder, Aloe Vera (contains Aloin) which irritates your digestive system and can cause diarrhea. Digestinol undertakes very specific additional steps in order to remove the Aloin during their extraction process to focus on only the beneficial portions of the Aloe Leaf, the long chain Aloe Mucilaginous Polysaccharide molecules.

Since Digestinol is 100% all-natural it doesn’t bring along the side effects that other chemically based prescription medications have. We tell our customers to think of Digestinol as an all-natural digestive system specific vitamin that reduces inflammation and provides your body with specific nutrients that allow it to take back control of itself.

Our Digestinol capsules will also help to balance the good and bad bacteria levels in your body allowing it to regain control of its normal operations.
